Students are back and the temperatures are cooling — fall is in the air. It’s the perfect time for cozy campus store events that will draw a crowd and increase sales. Here are five events your campus store could host this autumn.
Make Your Campus Store the Place to Be This Fall
Fall Pop Up
Create a fall-specific pop-up shop, featuring new products like sweatshirts, blankets, snacks, coffee mugs, fun socks, simple and festive dorm room décor, etc. Setting up a small shop within the store will help draw attention to your newest fall products. Also, consider offering free treats like apple cider or pumpkin-spiced treats to draw crowds or setting up an Autumn selfie wall.
Cozy Study Night Sale
School is back in session and midterms and finals will be here before you know it. Help students prepare with a cozy-themed study night sale. Highlight cozy essentials like blankets, ambient lighting, study snacks, and whatever else fits within the theme while offering discounts on study essentials, such as planners, pens, notebooks, notecards, etc.
Fall Photo Contest
Encourage students to take fall-themed photos around campus wearing or featuring store products (e.g. shirts, hoodies, mugs, etc.). Let students submit their photos by tagging the store on social media. Top three pictures (either determined by your selected judges or the most likes) will be displayed in the store and the winners will receive prizes like gift cards for the best entries.
Tailgate Gear Sale
Football season can draw a lot of alumni and community onto campus. Take advantage of the potential for increased foot traffic by having a tailgate-themed sale event. Offer discounts on team apparel, portable chairs, and game-day merchandise, etc., leading up to the big game. You could also promote a raffle that gives away game tickets or passes for a tailgate. Try the campus alumni center, athletic department or a local radio station for potential raffle donations.
Fall Clearance Sidewalk Sale
Take advantage of the gorgeous weather and set up an outdoor sale. Draw attention with fall decorations and music while selling your discounted summer inventory alongside new fall arrivals.
