Columbia, Missouri, where MBS' main facility resides, was named the number one hardest-working town in America, according to a recent study from PARADE magazine and Total Cereals.
Following the worst economic downturn since the Depression, Columbia, which lies squarely in the American heartland, halfway between St. Louis and Kansas City, has managed to keep its unemployment rate of 6.0 percent, a remarkable feat in a state that has suffered steep job losses elsewhere.
As the largest private employer in the city, we're proud to support the people of Columbia and call them both our co-workers and friends. In fact, we have over 1000 employees at four different locations in town, 53% of which have been with us for 5 years or more. We hire an additional 300 employees during the busy summer and winter months, as well.
Our commitment to creating jobs extends far beyond Columbia, MO, though, as we have employees residing in 27 different states across the country. Each of our employees, who range in age from 16 to 72, are dedicated to helping both our company run efficiently and our town to remain financially stable, and for that we are very grateful.
Congratulations to all of our staff as well as the city as a whole! Accomplishments such as this make us proud to call Columbia, MO home!
