It is never too early to submit a want list to MBS and start a bin and hold. As new adoptions come in, you can easily update your list and request multiple reworks, helping your store maximize fulfillment, access more of our low-cost inventory and get more books in one shipment.
A bin and hold simply means that your store leaves its want list with us for a set amount of time. During that time, more books are added to your bin through reworks or as you update your want list with new titles and/or quantities. After your bin has run its fulfillment course, you will then receive your consolidated order in one shipment, or you can choose to have several orders arrive on designated dates.
Tips for your bin & hold want list
- Start your bin early
The longer you can keep your bin and hold going, the more opportunities you have to get the books you need. By starting with your first adoptions, you can help ensure next term’s students have low-cost options. - Request reworks
Every time your want list is reworked, it’s compared to our constantly updated inventory, meaning you have greater access to fresh inventory as it is checked in. If your store doesn't use the MBS system, email order processing to request a rework schedule (wantlist@mbsbooks.com). - Save money on new book inventory
Did you know that MBS also sells new books for less than you can buy them from the publisher? Open your want list to new inventory to take advantage of this great deal. - Choose the best shipping option
Some stores prefer to receive one consolidated shipment. Others choose to have several orders that arrive on designated dates. Select the best option for your store’s resources. - Use SimpleSource
With SimpleSource your entire want list is managed through one tool. Your bin is automatically worked against our inventory several times a day, and you have the option to source from the marketplace.
Start your bin with the first adoptions you receive and see the difference it makes. If you have any questions, please contact your MBS representative.
