It’s that time of year to start submitting your store’s fall want list for a bin-and-hold order. The earlier your want list is turned in the better your fulfillment will be. Here are a few tips to help you maximize your want list fulfillment.Campus-Stores-Are-Already-Starting-Their-Bin-And-Hold-Orders_FO-Header_Proof-v1_240417

As a reminder, a bin-and-hold order is when your store submits its want list to us for a set amount of time. During that time frame, more books are added to your bin through reworks and/or as you update your want list with new titles/quantities. When your bin-and-hold timeframe has completed, you will then receive your consolidated order in one shipment, or you can choose to have several orders arrive on designated dates.

  1. Start your bin early - MBS has one of the nation’s largest inventories of used and discounted new books. Start your order now for the best selection — even if you just have a single adoption, it is better to start now and add to the bin. Select bin and hold as your order type and add adopted titles as you receive them. We’ll store your books at MBS until you’re ready for them to be shipped.

  2. Request reworks - Reworks take advantage of MBS’ fresh inventory, giving your store first pick of new inventory as it arrives. We are constantly getting new shipments of books in the warehouse. So rather than just comparing your want list to a single snapshot of our inventory, reworks compare your list according to your rework schedule to our inventory over an extended length of time. This gives you access to books that might not have been available when the list was first submitted, helping to increase the number of books in your shipment.

If your store is on the MBS system, start your bin and select Reworks. If it is not on the MBS system, start your bin and call order processing to request a rework schedule (800-325-0577).

  3. Open your want list to new book inventory - Did you know that MBS also sells new books for less than you can buy from publishers? Open your want list to new inventory to take advantage of this great deal.

  4. Choose the best shipping option - Some stores prefer to receive one consolidated shipment. Others choose to have several orders that arrive on designated dates. Select the best option for your store’s resources.

  5. Use SimpleSource - With SimpleSource your entire want list is managed through one tool. Your bin is automatically worked against our inventory several times a day, and you also have the option to source from the marketplace.
