MBS Service Center provides tools and information which college stores find helpful in managing their textbook department. 4 Reasons Service Center Is a Great Resource for College Stores

4 Ways to Utilize Service Center

  1. Ordering
Service Center helps you streamline your ordering process. Using our Realtime Ordering functionality, you can easily submit bin-and-hold or ASAP orders. Realtime ordering provides 24/7 online ordering with up-to-the-minute details on inventory availability.

Once textbook adoptions begin to come in, start your bin-and-hold order as soon as possible. As more adoptions come in, simply add them to your order and we will rework your wantlist against our inventory. ASAP ordering is available for quick order turnarounds to help ensure you have the materials you need. Don’t forget to look to us for new books too.

If your store uses SimpleSource: Submit your wantlist through Realtime and then access your order and manage your cycles through the SimpleSource tool.

  2. Shipping and Receiving
Service Center makes it easy to track shipments coming from MBS or shipped to MBS. You can view and/or email your invoices and packing slips to yourself. Also, you can generate your shipping and receiving reports.

  3. Textbook Trader
Textbook Trader is a free resource to help your store capture revenue by selling not adopted and not returnable stock and reducing the amount of inventory you are carrying.

  4. Informational Hub
Within Service Center, stores can track a variety of information. You can view your sales history; access sales, purchases and returns data; see a summary of your pending orders; and track your payments, account balance and credit limit.

Under Tool Center, you can access Faculty Center Network (FCN). FCN contains information on more than 1.4 million titles. Faculty can also access instructions on how to request review copies from publishers, book rankings by popularity and more. To get started with this tool, register by filling out this form.

If your store utilizes Online Buyback, you can track your stats through Service Center. MBS Online Buyback is a wholesale online buyback site where students can easily sell back their books and educational materials. Learn how to set up an Online Buyback in three easy steps.

Now is a good time to familiarize, or refamiliarize, yourself with Service Center to help streamline your store processes and save time. We also recommend contacting your MBS representative to update your store contact information as new employees join your team.
